teXt is a dual projection installation in which four-hundred and seventy three pages of text that list the sequence of the very end of the X chromosome are simultaneously presented in video and sound.
Four-hundred and seventy three pages of “G,” “A,” “T,” and “C” are simultaneously read by a computer text reader. Layers of scrolling text are subjected to repeated luminance keyers that add and/or subtract information based on the amount of light it emits. The result is a genetic palimpsest.
